Trip Expectations

 Students participating in this trip are expected to maintain a positive behavior record.

  • Students with two full-day assignments to In School Suspension (ISS) between October 6, 2021 and March 28, 2022 may not participate unless their parent or guardian, at their own expense, accompanies and supervises them. Parent or guardian spots would be determined based on space available at the time of the parent or guardian request.
  • Students who are assigned to Out of School Suspension (OSS) anytime in the 2021-2022 school year or a student who serves 3 or more full-day (separate) assignments in In School Suspension WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE TRIP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What time do students leave?

a.  Leave time 6:30 a.m. Sharp

b.  Drive-thru drop off in front of the lower gym beginning at 5:45 a.m.

2.  When do they return?

a.  Students will return Thursday evening at approximately 8:45 p.m.

b.  Pick-up will be on the HCCMS Campus 

3.  What is the adult/student ratio?

   a  Approximately 15 students to 1 adult, usually even less

4.  What is the cost of trip for Chaperones?

a.  Chaperones pay same prices as students, $472

b.  Chaperones are required to complete a background check for an additional $5

d. Scholarship funds are not available to the family members of a chaperoning parent.

 5. What if my child attends the trip, but I can't afford the cost?

a. Limited Scholarships available 

b. If you have a financial need, contact your Georgia Studies Teacher 

c. All scholarship requests must be made to your students'Georgia Studies teacher

6.  What are the rooming arrangements?

a. Adults room with adults, 2 adults per room

c. Students room with students, 4 students per room

d. Student rooms separated by gender typically on different floors.

e. Student input on grouping/rooming partner will be requested closer to time for the trip; exact matches are not 100% possible.

7.  I can't go, but I would still like to help. Is there anything I can do to help prepare for the trip?
